What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files. A website saves them on your device when you visit. They help the site remember your choices, see how it is used, and run certain features. On their own, cookies do not hold details that identify you by name. But they can be joined with other data to do so.

How Muhammad’s Pharmacy Uses Cookies

Our website, muhammadspharmacy.co.uk, uses cookies for a few reasons. They help the site work the right way, show us how patients use it, and make your visit smoother. Some cookies are set by other companies whose tools we use, such as Google Analytics and our booking system.

Types of Cookies We Use

We group our cookies by what they do. The List below show each one, what it is for, and how long it lasts.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are needed for the website to work. They cannot be switched off. They keep your session active, keep the site secure, and run the booking and form systems. We do not need your consent for these cookies.

  • PHPSESSID: keeps your session active as you move between pages. Lasts for your session.
  • wordpress_test_cookie: checks that your browser accepts cookies so the site can work. Lasts for your session.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us see how people use our website. They show which pages people visit, how long they stay, and where they came from. This helps us make the site better. The data is anonymous. We only use these cookies if you give consent.

  • _ga: Google Analytics. Tells one visitor apart from another. Lasts 2 years.
  • _gid: Google Analytics. Tells one visitor apart from another. Lasts 24 hours.
  • _gat: Google Analytics. Limits how often data is sent. Lasts 1 minute.

Functional Cookies

These cookies remember the choices you make. For example, they can remember your cookie settings or your language. This gives you a more personal visit. We only use these cookies if you give consent.

  • cookie_consent: remembers your cookie consent choice so the banner does not show again. Lasts 12 months.

Marketing Cookies

These cookies track your visit across different websites. They help show you adverts that are more useful to you, and they measure how well those adverts work. Some are set by the ad platforms themselves. We only use these cookies if you give consent.

  • _fbp (Facebook Pixel): shows and measures our adverts on Facebook and Instagram. Lasts 3 months.
  • fr (Facebook): used to deliver adverts and measure how well they work. Lasts 3 months.
  • _gcl_au (Google Ads): stores ad click data to track conversions. Lasts 3 months.

We only set marketing cookies after you accept them in the cookie banner.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our website are set by other companies, not by us. These come from tools that help the site run, show content, or measure how it is used. We do not control these cookies, and each company has its own rules. To learn how they use cookies, please read their own policies.

  • Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Maps, reCAPTCHA): measures how visitors use the site, powers the map on our contact page, and protects our forms from spam.
  • Titanverse (booking system): runs our online appointment booking.
  • Facebook / Meta: powers any share buttons or adverts linked to our social media.

We only set non-essential third-party cookies after you accept them in the cookie banner.

How to Manage or Disable Cookies

You are in control of your cookies. You can manage them in a few ways.

When you first visit our site, the cookie banner lets you accept or decline cookies that are not essential. You can also change your settings later.

You can also control cookies through your web browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Here are the help pages for the main browsers:

If you block essential cookies, some parts of the site may not work.
