Worried about a changing mole? Get professional clarity at Muhammad’s Pharmacy in Manor Park. We use high-resolution dermoscopy to capture clinical images. You’ll receive your detailed report in a few days.
A simple three-step process to have your moles checked by a dermatologist at our pharmacy.
Book online or call us. Come with the mole visible and avoid plasters or makeup.
The pharmacist captures magnified images with a dermatoscope. The process takes about 20 minutes and is painless.
Your images are sent to a GMC-registered dermatologist for review. You receive a written report, and we explain it.
Use the ABCDE checklist at home to identify any mole changes that need a professional examination.
You don't need us to start. ABCDE is the checklist doctors use; it takes five minutes in front of a mirror, and it costs nothing.
Important indicators for skin cancer in darker skin tones where traditional sun-exposure advice often falls short.
Skin cancer advice usually focuses on pale skin and sun exposure. It often overlooks melanoma in Black, South Asian, and East Asian people. Melanoma can show up on palms, soles, and under nails. Sunscreen isn't effective against it. Amelanotic melanoma can appear without pigment and is usually more advanced, leading to a worse prognosis.
Look for a flat dark patch that doesn't fade and doesn't heal. It often gets written off as a bruise, a callus or a wart, and people wait for it to clear up. If a mark on your palm or the sole of your foot has been there for weeks, get it looked at.
Most dark nail streaks are harmless, especially on darker skin, and many people have them for years. See a doctor if the streak is new, in one nail only, widening, darkening, or spreading to the skin.
Between the toes. Under the arms. The soles of the feet. Standard advice on sunburn and vacations often misses these areas. So, issues here are checked less frequently and found last.
ABCDE is for body moles; CUBED is for foot moles: colour change, uncertain diagnosis, bleeding, enlargement, delayed healing (over 2 months). If two or more of these signs apply, see a doctor.

Spotting changes early and knowing when to get help
If your GP identifies a mole as urgent, the NHS two-week pathway is free and appropriate. We provide a quick expert opinion for those unsure and wanting immediate answers.
Important note: A clear report means no suspicious features were seen at the time, but it’s not a guarantee. If the mole changes or you still have concerns, consult your GP regardless of the report.
Clear information on the limitations of our screening service to ensure you receive the right care.
We'd rather tell you the limits upfront than have you find out later.
It checks the moles you mention. It captures clear, magnified images. Then, you get an opinion from a GMC-registered dermatologist in just a few days. It also tells you clearly if further assessment is needed.
It can't diagnose skin cancer, take a biopsy, or remove a mole. It doesn't replace an urgent NHS referral. And it isn't a full-body mole map, so we're checking what you show us rather than surveying every inch of skin.
One more thing. A clear result today is a snapshot, not a lifetime guarantee. Keep checking yourself, and come back if something changes.
Identify the specific symptoms that require immediate medical attention from your GP rather than pharmacy screening.
Some things need a doctor now, not an imaging appointment.
In any of these, ring your GP or NHS 111 first. We're happy to help afterwards, but they should see you first.
Transparent information regarding our private mole screening fees and what is included in your appointment cost.
Mole screening is a private service and isn't available on the NHS. The fee covers the appointment, the imaging, and the specialist review and written report. It depends on how many moles you want looked at, so we'll confirm the price before we start. Call us or check the booking page for current rates.
